Having the right tools for chronic pain is essential.  Chronic pain is no joke.

And seriously, who wants to be laid up for days or weeks at a time because you have a flare up?

And I don’t know about you, but I HATE taking pain medicine.

It always made me feel loopy and tired, and really messed with my digestive system and memory.  So I decided living with the pain was something I would rather do than deal with the side effects.

After finding the healing power of foods and mindset (which is what this website is all about), and the occasional chiropractic visit, I was so much better, but still had some days where it was hard to get out of bed.

So I began buying everything that said it could help me.  (I’m not kidding, I have a closet dedicated to just tools for chronic pain.)

Finding Relief

Some of the tools for chronic pain were not what they claimed to be, but I found 10 items that I absolutely cannot live without because on the days my pain is bad, these help so much.

Some of these may look familiar because I tend to recommend most of these quite often, but there are some new treasures I found that I found belong on my recommendation list!

Without further ado, lets jump into my favorite tools for chronic pain!

And yes, I own every single one of these items!

When my neck prevents me from being able to do my daily activities, I will do these in order to feel relief:  #3, #9, #2, #6.

1. CINCOM Leg Air Compression Massager for Foot Calf Thigh Upgrade Leg Wraps with Portable Handheld Controller and 2 Extensions- 3 Modes & 3 Intensities (Black)

These are a lifesaver.  Sore legs, feet, swelling, varicose veins, you name it, this helps with it all.  They worked so well for me and my husband, I bought my dad these for Father’s Day and he said it was the best gift he has ever gotten (he is a very honest man, so he doesn’t say things like that unless it is true).

2. TENS 7000 Digital TENS Unit With Accessories – TENS Unit Muscle Stimulator For Back Pain, General Pain Relief, Neck Pain, Muscle Pain

This tens machine is a smaller, more portable version of what you see in the chiropractor’s office.  It doesn’t shock you or anything, it just sends small pulses to your muscles to help them relax.  I find it helps me so much.

3. MIGHTY BLISS™ Deep Tissue Back and Body Massager {Cordless} Electric Handheld Percussion Muscle Hand Massager – Full Body Pain Relief Vibrating Therapy Massage Machine, Neck, Shoulder, Leg, Foot

This is my go to massager for when I want to work on the knots that pop up everywhere.  It has a few different attachments so you can find what works for you.  It’s great at working on a dedicated spot and is really easy for me to hold in one hand.

4.  Sunbeam Heating Pad for Pain Relief, Standard Size UltraHeat, 3 Heat Settings with Moist Heat, Light Blue, 12-Inch x 15-Inch

A heating pad is a must.  I’m sure if you suffer from chronic pain, you have one of these in your home.  However, if you don’t, I highly recommend this one.  It’s the cheapest one I found, that also doesn’t seem to overheat or not be hot enough.  I personally don’t like heating pads that auto-shut off, so this one is a win for me.

5. Biofreeze Pain Relief Roll-On, 3 oz. Roll-On, Fast Acting, Long Lasting, & Powerful Topical Pain Reliever

This is a great combination when you want to “cool” the pain.  It does have a scent to it, but it does help the pain feel less intense.

6.  Life-flo Magnesium Lotion w/Concentrated Magnesium Chloride | Calms & Rejuvenates Muscles & Mind

I’m going to be honest…. I like this stuff better than the biofreeze.  The biofreeze works great, but this has more natural healing going on, and smells better.  Magnesium is one of the only nutrients we can absorb into our skin, which is why it is such a great pain reliever.  I tend to run it in just the spot that I am in pain, and although it doesn’t cure it, it relieves it and makes it more tolerable to where I can move just fine again.  Which makes this a winner in my book.

7.  Epsoak Epsom Salt – 5 lbs. Magnesium Sulfate USP

Speaking of Magnesium, Espon Salt has been around forever to help relieve body aches, and with good reason!  If you have a bathtub, just throw this in with some warm water and it will do it’s job while you just sit there and relax.

8.  Posture Corrector For Men And Women – Adjustable Upper Back Brace For Clavicle To Support Neck, Back and Shoulder (Universal Fit, U.S. Design Patent)

Investing in one of these is probably the best decision you can make.  When our posture isn’t great, it puts extra pressure on our back and neck, causing pain.  So I try to wear mine for at least a half hour per day.

9. Cervical Orthotic Traction Block | Firm | Spinal & Neck Alignment | 3-Height Adjustable Design | Cervical Traction Device & Neck Stretcher

This traction device is similar to the ones you will see in the chiropractor’s office.  Whenever my neck hurts, this is the very first thing I do for about 15 minutes, and although it can feel weird when you are lying down, and you will feel some tingling when you get back up, it really helps relieve the pain.

10.  Theragun Prime – All-New 4th Generation Percussive Therapy Deep Tissue Muscle Treatment Massage Gun

This massager is the one that should be on everyone’s Christmas lists.  They are a little pricey, but really get down deep to relieve tight and sore muscles.  It can almost be too intense, so make sure you start off on the low settings!  It has almost 2000 five star reviews on Amazon.  And if you talk to anyone who has one, they will tell you it was the best purchase they ever made!
